When I was pregnant with Carson, I read every book possible. I read pregnancy books, I read labor books, I read breastfeeding books.
But what no one mentioned was that, once you're actually a mother the books don't matter. I never realized that once I became a mom, I would do something like lick my finger and wipe a smudge off my babies face. Something I HATED when I was a child. They don't tell you that you will lick weird foods off your kids fingers to avoid smudges on the counters.
Books don't tell you that you'll be able to sing the entire theme song to your kids favorite shows. But you won't know who Kim Kardashian is dating. I can sing the entire theme to Dinosaur Train, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Thomas the train.
But the truly crazy thing they don't mention is that once you're a mom, you would do anything to help a child in need. All of a sudden you could see a child being abused and you would step in. You see a child in need, you give them what you can. Why stop there though? Help today by donating what ever you can to help the Clean Water Campaign by my friend over at Life Rearanged
We love Dinosaur Train over here! Hope you're having a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe're currently watching it....another great show is Shawn the Sheep
ReplyDeleteI'm with you the on the books - they really don't matter as much as learning how to be a mom during the day to day. :)
